About Us
Jeanette Bronée, CHHC is a Nourishment Counselor, board certified with the AADP as a Holistic Health Counselor from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and has been educated in Macrobiotic healing. She is certified as a Compassionate Integration Counselor with the Tom Monte Method and focuses on the emotional healing and behavioral modifications that need to be an integrative part of our nutrition and nourishment habits for lasting change. She is a certifed in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy which is a powerful way of helping the individual connect with their inner resources for healing. She practices different modalities to bridge the gap of transformation and healing of the mind/body connection as she believes there is not one answer and the individual holds their own within.
In 2004, she started Path for Life Self-Nourishment Center in New York City after a complete change of career. As an ex-fashion-executive and designer, and being a woman living with the so-called high-risk for cancer, she knows about the importance and challenges of living a healthy and balanced life in a busy world. When both her parents died of cancer 1 year apart she decided to devote all her time and energy to help people heal. As her practice grew from healing through food-choices to integrating the emotional healing that needs to take place for a truly integrative and holistic healing, she found what she had been looking for. Her own Path for Life.
Jeanette has developed the Path for Life Nine-Step System that she teaches to her clients. On this enlightening journey, she guides each client toward finding their own individual way to health through conscious food choices, improved daily self-care habits and through shifting negative behavioral patterns. Her approach to food is educational, upbeat and non-dogmatic. But it is not just about food; Jeanette teaches us to be aware of "how and why we eat."
Jeanette’s wish is for each client to step into awareness and take charge of their life, health, wellbeing, and daily joy. She loves being both the Sherlock Holmes of health to find the root cause of the symptoms, and the change motivator for each individual client to uncover the root of what is holding them back from healing and changing their habits for good. She believes that emotional healing is an essential component of living life fully. Jeanette has a deeply compassionate understanding of the emotional issues we struggle with in our challenges to change our habits. She is dedicated to being a resource and inspiration for those who are looking for a new way to a healthy and balanced life, for people living with illness, and for those who seek prevention by transitioning from living with "high risk" to living with "high awareness". Being a guide in finding the freedom of leaving behind feeling dis-empowered by our own eating habits to being empowered to practice great self-nourishment everyday. And to help everyone change their relationship to food and self to grown their life.
Erica Duryea, CHHC is a Certified Holistic Health Counselor certified by the AADP and Columbia Teacher's College through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She has studied the macrobiotic approach to nutrition and healing at the Kushi Institute and is an active student of Tom Monte's Program for Healers. Erica works with her clients to educate them about food and the power of their choices and to help them understand and overcome the obstacles, both physical and emotional, which stand between them and their optimal wellness.
Erica discovered Macrobiotics and holistic health counseling after she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma at 25 years old and embarked on her own path to wellness and balance. She first came to Path for Life as a client, knowing that she had been called to this work for a reason and seeking to find ways of helping others with the same questions in life. Since then her journey has been guided by passion, curiosity, and a deep and profound desire to spread this force that has changed her life. She joined Path for Life as a counselor in 2008, and is also working with counseling groups of young women in the supportive and healing environment that PFL offers. As a young woman raised in the modern American culture and living in the fast-paced, hyper-extended world of New York, Erica understands the myriad challenges facing young women today: how to make healthy food and lifestyle choices on a budget, how to find the time to buy and prepare healthful, quality food with a hectic schedule, how to integrate a desire to be healthy and balanced with an active and vivacious social life, and how to navigate pressure and isolation in a culture of comparison. Erica also holds small group sessions at Path for Life, to create more access to receiving counseling and support.
