Body Therapies
Acupuncture is a holistic system of healing rooted in Eastern philosophies and practices developed over 3000 years ago. Stemming from essential concepts of yin and yang, the system of acupuncture defines health as the ultimate balance of body and spirit, which are integrated through the flow of vital energy, or qi.
Qi travels along a network of channels throughout the body and influences all of our metabolic functions (digestive, circulatory, nervous, endocrine etc.). Especially in today’s busy and stressful times, blockages and imbalances in the flow of qi can occur, bringing about pain, emotional strain and general ill health. Acupuncture accesses the pathways of qi to correct disruptions, stimulating the body’s ability to heal and restoring the body’s naturally healthy state.
Treatment consists of the gentle insertion of extremely fine, sterile, disposable needles at very specific points on the surface of the body. Each point has a direct and indirect function in the treatment of disease. Because every person has a unique constitution and particular set of symptoms, each treatment is personalized to address the needs of the individual.
Acupuncture has been confirmed by the World Health Organization to treat many conditions, including headaches, infertility, PMS, back pain, orthopedic injury, digestive issues, weight loss, insomnia, depression and addictions. It is also becoming more widely accepted and acknowledged by the mainstream medical field as effective treatment for side effects of pain and nausea in cancer and AIDS therapies, and for post-surgical recovery. Many insurance companies are now incorporating acupuncture in their covered benefits.

Massage Therapies
The body is like a house — it shows the signs of the owner using it. Over time, you may notice some wear and tear, you may feel tight, you may be unable to move freely. In order to ‘fix’ your house — your body — and keep it in shape, you need to break some habits, change a couple of patterns, and make new choices.
Integrative Massage Therapy involves breath, movement, touch and coaching. The sessions are built to improve the awareness of your body’s signals, increase your range of motion, and create alignment and balance in your body. Together we will gently explore the patterns that hold you back, correct the misconceptions that limit you, and develop strategies to keep you moving forward.
When you learn to listen to your body, you will discover a sound core from which to make new and better choices. When you act on your body’s messages, you will have more energy to lead a harmonious lifestyle. When your mind and body are in sync, health and aliveness show up in every aspect of your being. When you practice such self-nourishment, you can rest assured your house is built to last.

Reiki & Energy Healing
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, powerful and effective method of natural healing that is both a form of bodywork and complementary energy medicine. It is based on ancient healing traditions from Asia that work on a cellular level to balance the physical body system and on a metaphysical level to balance the electromagnetic and subtle energy fields in and around the body.
The word Reiki is Japanese and translates into English as “universal life-force energy”. Reiki uses this life-force energy to deeply relax both the mind and physical body while at the same time reducing stress, relieving pain and balancing emotions.
Reiki accelerates and supports the body’s natural healing process, is completely non-invasive and can help facilitate personal and spiritual growth. The focusing of this energy involves a soft, light touch on or above the body.
The session is done fully clothed and clients find it deeply relaxing. It is an important tool for stress-relief, balancing the body, and to assist in self-healing.
