OCTOBER HEALTH NOTES
THE BREAST HEALTH ISSUE |
|
|
|
October is
Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

 |
This is the statue of Agatha,
the Patron Saint of Breast Cancer Sufferers.
Many of us are touched by cancer sometime in our lives, either through our own experience or through someone we care about.
Sharing information, thoughts, and feelings can help us live with more awareness. We can take better care of ourselves and loved ones.
These health-notes are for sharing with those who are interested in prevention, those who want to change their health, ways, and food choices, and of course those who "just care".
Please note this information is not in place of a health consultation nor is it a diet plan to follow without guidance from a professional. It is an overview but not the whole picture.

Food to Omit and Limit:
There are many perspectives on food and cancer but in general we all agree on several: preservatives, artificial food colorings, and toxins are important to limit or better yet - avoid. All the toxins in our world are related to the different types of cancer, not just breast cancer. Since this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I will for now only focus on breast cancer.
- All refined, processed, and junk food,
- All the refined white stuff – incl. white flour, sugar, and salt
- Saturated fat from animal food - incl. trans- and hydrogenated fats.
- Dairy
- Coffee
- Tap water, important to omit all toxins from tap water
- Alcohol
- And as much as possible; Physical and Emotional Stress

Breast Healthy Choices:
Prevention is our best tool, it is a daily lifestyle choice that helps us feel better today and boost our immunesystem for the furture.
|
|
|
Breast Cancer Prevention Diet:
Food:
- Carrot and Beet – eat them as food or juice them. Or both.
- Eat a lot of whole and brown grains – such as brown rice and barley
- Cruciferous Vegetables, containing beneficial sulfur compound.
- Pumpkin and Winter Squashes, Root vegetables (sweet potato, turnip, parsnip).
- Burdock, garlic and onion help prevent cell mutations and contain Anti-Cancer Phytonutrients.
- Dark leafy greens (like kale, collards) and Cabbage
- Fresh fruit – apples, blue and black berries, cherries, grapes, plums
- Green juices from cereal grasses, such as wheatgrass and barley grass. My favorite easy way is to get the powdered ones.
- Low protein diet, especially focus on getting protein from vegetable and omega rich fish sources and limit / omit those from land-animal sources.
- Drink very pure water – especially alkaline water.
Supplements:
- Flaxseed – is rumored to repress tumor growth and re-occurance.
- Aloe Vera
- Chlorella – contains DNA and helps re-program our DNA to fight off cancer cells.
- Medicinal mushrooms, Maitake, Shitake, Tremella (very high in vit D). Inhibits and reduces tumors. Boost immune-system and have anti-viral properties. They are also adaptagenics, which means they help balance the body. For example, they lower blood-pressure when high, raises it when low.
- Cats Claw. Help boost immune-system, lowers blood-pressure, menstrual regularity, increases circulation, and has anti-cancer properties.
- Red Clover, helps adjust estrogen levels. High isoflavone levels.
- Fermented and sprouted soy have estrogenic quality for balancing hormone and estrogen levels. (note that some sources do not agree with this, especially during treatement)
- Probiotics and enzymes. (Especially during treatment this is important as is chlorella to rid the body of the toxins.)
