Health Notes.
The Summer Ready Issue.

Sniff sniff, scratch scratch...red eyes, runny nose...

Have you been feeling the summer coming on with your allergies picking up?

Many have allergies these days and it is the first sign of summer. It is no surprise that more and more people are suffering with this annoyance.

Our food sources have become more and more loaded up with toxins and pesticides. They are more and more depleted from nutritional value followed by your immune system being affected and depleted.

Then of course we are also living in a stressed and busy everyday world which adds a deep desire for comfort foods to ease the pain.

These however are mostly sugary and refined simple carby foods, making us more mucus prone and therefore more allergy prone.

The Triggers.

You probably know better than I. I don't have allergies anymore, I used to some years back. Now, this is not meant to make you feel bad about yourself! It is meant to give you hope! Though I have to say. Last week I had a cup of Sunday coffee and Monday my eyes were itchy. The acidity from coffee was an immediate trigger.

The Triggers you probably already know of:

Dust and dust mites; they live in your carpets and bedding, overstuffed furniture and down-filled comforters

Mold; wet laundry and house plants can attract mold too. But an old water-damage can be very hidden and a lot of trouble for your health.

Dog dander; wash the dog more often but in a gentle shampoo like oatmeal, omit wheat and sugars from the dogs diet, and add Omega-3. fatty acids. Yes -the same thing goes for dogs as for you. The dog will have less dander just like you will have less mucus with a change of diet.

Cigarette smoke, traffic and general pollution.

Pollen, grass and other flying in the air particles of nature.

You name it, you know it.

The Triggers you probably do not know so well:

The fruit juices and the popularity of fruit smoothies increase our sugar load.

Protein bars that seem to be the new version of health food for the busy, they are often high in sugars from fruit.

The iced coffee and teas with extra fruit for the freshness of summer is upon us.

Ice-cream of course.

All in all you have yourself a nice overloaded condition which can trigger allergies.

In general: Watch out for processed food, food high in food coloring or additives, artificial sweeteners, refined sugars, and pesticides.

The Natural Solution.

There are several great homeopathic remedies for allergies. Probably one of the most used natural remedies for such actually.

Bioforce has several off-the-shelf remedies that can help you. There are other companies too. If you are a sever sufferer - you might want a personalized consultation from a homeopathic doctor. I can recommend dr. Nathalie Stern

Herbal tinctures such as stinging nettle and butterbur. I also like to add some burdock, pau d'arco, and dandelion. Quercetin also can help as a supplement - but it is found in foods such as the skin of apples, onion, garlic, and buckwheat.

Neti pot with saline water can irrigate your nose which can be helpful.

Acupuncture can help stimulate your immunesystem and alleviate the allergies. I can recommend Cathrine Cusumano.

And of course a change of your food choices is always helpful.
